ADVENTURES IN SET DANCING

Set dancing has been a mainstay of Irish culture in Maryland since the 1980s. Its popularity gave rise to regular dances at the Gandy Dancer and the legendary J. Patrick's in Baltimore, and further south spurred the formation of the Greater Washington Ceili Club. The NEW SECOND SUNDAY IRISH CEILI is an attempt to revive in spirit the storied monthly dance that ran for more than a decade at J. Patrick's. The new ceili takes place on the second Sunday of every month at Liam Flynn's Alehouse in Baltimore's Station North arts district, and introduces a new community and a new generation of Baltimoreans to set dancing, Irish Traditional music, and premium drinking vessels.

THE CEILI AT LIAM FLYNN'S IS CURRENTLY ON HIATUS, but we will return bigger and bolder with more daring sets and meatier music in a bid to take over the known universe soon...
