2016 CLASS: Beginner Old-Style Irish Dance (Kids)

Students will learn basic old-style Irish dance steps and learn to identify forms of Irish traditional dance music (i.e. reels, jigs, hornpipes, etc) by ear. Students will become familiar with historical aspects of Irish traditional music and dance, especially the lineage of dances and steps they learn.
This class builds fluency with fundamental concepts in Irish dancing such as learning to count beats in a measure and measures in a part, and executing batters, tip downs, hop backs, overs, the rise and grind, and the side step.
Every class features live music.
Students may elect to pay for the entire term up front by September 16th, or they may pay for the first half by September 16th and the second half by November 4th.
